8. Forget me not by Good Rainbow Harvest

Emmett always thought he never needed friends...that was, of course, after he met Michael 3 years ago. It was the first time he ever had a best friend, the only time he really felt like he wasn't alone.

But bad things always happen to Emmett – Michael moved away during one short year of their companionship, and never told Emmett a word about it, and for awhile, Emmett could never get it off his mind...

As he finally turns 16, to his surprise, Michael moves back into the area – but this Michael isn't the Michael he knew in his past. The two reunited friends embark in separate lifestyles, they couldn't possibly be friends, right? They're both fine the way they are, right? Emmett just wants to forget about his past and move on, but little does he know that right now Michael needs a friend to help him out during the most difficult time of his life...

  1. "-Wow, I'm surprised all of the characters, including the really minor ones like Emmett's mom, are illustrated! Kudos to you! ^^
    -I noticed you took advantage of the font variations you can do in Renpy! Although it's really minor, I liked how Evon talks in tiny text, as it lends her more character. :)
    -This game actually crashed a couple of times, just to let you know. It seems that it can't find the png file for the bathroom... ^^;
    Also: SyntaxError: invalid syntax (forgetmenot/game/day2.rpy, line 1619)
    -Overall, I like how this is turning out! :) I'm not sure if I was just unable to get past the glitches, but I enjoyed the dynamic between Emmett and Michael and I'm looking forward to the finished version! <3"

  2. "I found it to be a sweet story about two friends who changed as they grew up.

    Though I found the story a bit inconsitant at times, I still enjoyed the characters.
    The game play was confusing because there was no hint of where the main character should be going.

    There were alot of bugs in it.
    But overall I liked it and would play it again to complete it."

  3. "-A bit torn on the writing for Forget Me Not. For the most part, it is solid and well-thought out. However, I noticed several errors in both grammar and spelling, which caused it to be kind of bumpy. The overall plot is interesting and the number of potential routes is staggering. Sadly, since this is a demo, I'm left with a feeling of the story being incomplete. Emmett intrigues me and I'm left wondering too much.

    -The music... It's not bad and used appropriately, but it is all music I've heard before. Literally in several cases, as I recognized one piece as the theme song I used for Syl in Anton's Vacation: Episode Zero. The pains you face when you use free use works...

    - Not a fan of the sprite art, it looks a bit incomplete. Lines that should be straight aren't, coloring bleeds over the outline, and everything had a rushed, jagged feel to it. The backgrounds were find, as well the CGs. However, one thing I've had really liked would either be a gallery or some indication of which ending (even if it was just the demo ending) I got.

    - The location map was a nice touch to the interface. The fact that the locations I picked weren't force 100% of the time was enjoyable. The textbox and font were something other than renpy default, and worked well together. Only problem I had was a bug in Day2 caused the game to crash.

    - While a bit rough and unpolished in certain key areas, there is clearly a solid and interesting story underneath. It just needs a bit more hard work, but I can see it becoming a very interesting yaoi story."
